The Home Bakers # 1 : Cheese Swirled Chocolate Bundt Cake

Our long awaiting blog event is here !!! I didn't even realise it at first till I saw Joyce posting it at wee hours in the morning.. Errr , babe you don't need to sleep eh?... LOL .. I am joining The Home Bakers, a new blog event organise by Joyce from Kitchen Flavours. We are baking recipes taken from COFFEE CAKES by Lou Seibert Pappas.The first recipe from this book will be Cheese Swirled Chocolate Bundt Cake chosen by Joyce, kitchen flavours.
Well, I am smart this time , I have carefully read everyone's review before trying out this recipe. I have to thank you everyone for sharing their tips and all. I am glad that Lena of frozen wings actually send me a message to give me some useful tips on this recipe . Thank you babe. This cake turn out to be a hit with some minor changes .
I actually made half of the recipe for the cake and full recipe for the cheese filling. I made some minor changes to this recipe and bake for 45 minutes .

Cheese Swirled Chocolate Bundt Cake 
Cheese Filling :
230g   Cream cheese at room temperature
1/4cup Granulated sugar
1 tsp  Vanilla extract
1large Egg
1cup (6 ounces) semisweet chocolate chips

For the Cake ( 1/2 of the original recipe) : 
1 large Eggs
100g  Granulated sugar
120g  Butter,soften to room temperature ( 1/2 cup canola oil)
1/2 tbsp  Chocolate Emulco ( original recipe calls for 1/2 tsp Vanilla Extract )
1 1/2 cups Unbleached all-purpose flour
38g   Cocoa powder, plus 1 teaspoon ( Original recipe calls unsweetend cocoa powder )
1tsp  Baking soda
1/2tsp    Salt
1/2cup    Yoghurt + 1/4cup Milk
1/4cup    Walnuts, Coarsely chopped
2tbsp Confectioners' sugar

With the additional 1/4 cup of milk and chocolate emulco added to the recipe, this cake turn out to be a hit. Guess all chocolate lover can't resist this moist tasty cake.

  1. Wow, Abby! Your cake sure looks good! This cake tastes good, except that it is slightly dry, and you have taken care of that! That's the great thing about team-baking, all the tips and sharing are really invaluable! Really happy to see that your cake turns out fantastic! So, does your mom likes this? wink! wink! :)

    Wath a great change adding in a quart cup of milk, it would definately be a lot moister then the one i made. But i loved it anyway.
